A social app name style is your display name rewritten in Unicode fancy letters and symbol frames so your profile does not look like every other default handle. This page covers the four apps people rename most — StarMaker, ShareChat, Bigo Live and TikTok — and what each one actually accepts.
The rules differ more than you would expect. Two of these apps take almost any character in the display name; two filter hard. Each section below says which, and the sets are built to survive that app’s filter. Type your own name into the generator above to get the same styles for it.
StarMaker name style
StarMaker is the most permissive of the four: the profile name takes long strings and renders decorative blocks properly, so full frames work. A singer profile reads better with a short word and a clean frame than with a long decorated sentence.
For a StarMaker nickname specifically — the short name people actually type when they tag you — keep it to four or five letters and skip the frame entirely.
ShareChat name style and ShareChat ID names
ShareChat is where a stylish name has the most effect, because profiles surface constantly in chatrooms and comment feeds. The name field accepts Devanagari and Latin together, which is why mixed-script names are common there.
Picking the best name for a ShareChat ID is mostly about length: the feed truncates long names, so the decorated version should still make sense when only the first half is visible.
Bigo stylish name
Bigo Live sits between the two: it accepts fancy fonts reliably but rejects some of the rarer bracket blocks. When a name will not save on Bigo, the frame is nearly always the cause, not the letters.
TikTok name style — handle versus display name
TikTok is the strict one, and it is the source of most “why will it not save” questions. The @username accepts only letters, numbers, underscores and periods — no fancy text at all. The display name above it accepts almost anything. So the styled version belongs in the display name and the bio, never in the handle.

Frequently asked questions
Why will TikTok not accept my stylish name?
You are almost certainly editing the @username. TikTok restricts handles to letters, numbers, underscores and periods. Put the styled text in the display name field instead — it sits directly above the handle and accepts Unicode.
Can I use the same stylish name on every app?
Usually yes, but check the length. StarMaker and ShareChat allow long names; Bigo and TikTok display names truncate sooner, so the decorated version may be cut mid-frame.
Why does my name show empty boxes to other users?
Their device lacks the characters for that style. Rare decorative blocks are not part of every phone font. Switch to bold, italic, script or small caps and it renders everywhere.
What is the best name for a ShareChat ID?
Something short enough to survive truncation in the feed — four to eight letters plus at most one frame. A long decorated name gets cut and the decoration is what people see first.
Are these names free to use?
Yes. Every name and symbol here is standard Unicode text, free to copy and use on any account.
